An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is an entry need for visa-free foreign citizens travelling to Canada. It is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires.

Who needs an eTA to travel to Canada?

Visa-exempt foreign citizens need an eTA to fly to or through a Canadian airport. People who can get an ETA are:

- English citizen
- British National (abroad)
- British Overseas Citizen (re-admissible to the UK)British citizen of an overseas territory:
- Anguilla

- Falkland Islands (Malvinas)
- Gibraltar
- Montserrat
- Pitcairn Island
- Santa Elena
- Turks and Caicos Islands
- British subject with right of residence in the United Kingdom
